- I grew up on a working cattle ranch in North Texas. I became disillusioned with the party democrat in the 90s (to my family's horror). Traditionally the South is "supposed to vote Democrat". One of my aunts even went so far as to tell me, outright, that the Republicans are "Carpetbaggers". I have found the opposite is true today. The real carpetbaggers today are the democratic party as a whole(coining the Civil War term that my aunt used). It only takes a little research to begin to see through the lies and deception that the party democrat has built their foundation upon. My heart's desire is to see good men and women at the helm of this country. People that actually CARE about the American people. This is a GREAT nation full of GREAT people. It's time we realized that and began to appreciate what we've been given.
